Christmas in January, Part 2

Answers to commonly asked Christmas questions this year:

  • No she didn’t cry, but she didn’t sit on his lap either. Healthy fear of strangers.
  • A big girl stroller for her babies, a digital camera, blocks and arts and craft supplies.
  • Not really, maybe next year.
  • Same dress as last year.
  • Seeing baby Rachel

Jersey Girl

The last batch of pictures from a very fun visit to see the whole family in New Jersey. We didn’t know it at the time, but Ce was getting sick and wasn’t her usual picking machine self out in the cherry orchard. She still managed to put away a good number and this year she understood the whole pit in the middle concept.

Gone Fishin’

Continuing the catch-up from our trip down to Grandmother and Papa’s house: here is a look at the cousins going deep sea fishing. I have to say despite the endless colds and sometimes leg dragging drop-offs, I do appreciate how much daycare has helped Ce socialize and play with other kids.

You can also see she definitely inherited her Mama’s love of the water as there was no way Daddy was putting his feet in that ice bath. I’m glad kids are impervious to cold.

Ce vs. the Tractor

What could be better than riding the tractor at the mall? How about riding around on Papa’s tractor?

Jam Packed

Cecilia’s love for fruit truly knows no bounds. I mean, she gets excited for food in general. Say the word, breakfast or dinner and she’ll literally drop what she’s doing and make a beeline for the high chair. But say the word blueberry or strawberry or peaches and it’s kick your feet, wiggle your butt, squeal excitement. So you can just imagine her reaction when Uncle Jeff made some fresh blueberry-peach jam on our recent visit to cousin Nathan’s house in DC. It was duck and cover time.

Scenes from the Fourth

Cecilia discovered the joys (sweet delicious kernels) and the frustrations (sneaky, yucky silk) of corn on the cob during an active and patriotic holiday weekend at Grandmother and Papa’s house. Don’t take my word for it, check out the photo evidence below:
